How to Manage the Time Limit in The IIFT Exam?

IIFT stands for Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. It is a management aptitude test conducted by the National Testing Agency or NTA on behalf of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. It is held once a year. It is a national level exam, which means both domestic and international students can take it. It is a computer-based examination.

The duration of the exam is 2 hours. The exam syllabus consists of 4 subjects, which are general knowledge, verbal ability & reading comprehension, quantitative analysis, and logical reasoning & data interpretation. The exam fee for the general category is INR 2500 each. There is no age limit to appear in the IIFT entrance exam.

How to manage the time limit in the IIFT exam?

Time management plays a basic role in preparing for the exam. All candidates need to prepare different strategies for managing time according to exam patterns and subjects. Some of the strategies that can to be followed are described below:

• Make a proper timetable: The making of a proper timetable according to subjects is also beneficial in cracking an IIFT exam. Students can make a proper timetable by prioritizing their tasks based on the time preparation that a topic will need.
• Prepare the difficult topics first: From the IIFT syllabus, highlight the difficult topics and allot more time to understand these concepts. Candidates need to mark tough and unknown topics and prepare them at first. If there is a gap of 6 months then prepare such topics at first.
• Practice pre-mocks: It is significant for candidates to solve IIFT mock tests, which helps them understand how to manage time on the exam day. It helps them find out whether they can solve the whole exam within the specified limit or how much they can solve. From it, they can also know the sections they are weak at and accordingly give more preparation time to them.
• Attempt easy questions first: The time to complete the IIFT exam is 2 hours: you are advised to not waste time on a single question. Go through the question paper and mark out the ones that you are the most confident in answering and attempt those first. Questions of subjects like data interpretation and logical reasoning are lengthy so it’s always better to attempt them later.
• Go for reverse strategy: The questions paper contains objective type multiple-choice questions. Sometimes candidates are confused between the 1 or 2 choices. To solve this problem, try to apply the reverse strategy, which means read answers choices first and then the questions. Sometimes this strategy helps simplify the question paper.
